Certified Safety System for In Cabin and Open Door Operations
The Monkey Belt 4.0 is a modular webbing based anchoring system created for operators working inside helicopters during special operations. It is designed for use in the rear cabin and provides a secure attachment point during open door flight, boarding, disembarking, and hovering operations. This makes it essential for helicopter rescue crews, air medical teams, technical operators, and special units performing Human External Cargo related tasks.
Each segment includes advanced safety features such as an integrated load limiter that reduces impact forces during a fall and protects both the operator and the aircraft anchor points. A built in overload indicator provides a visual alert that the system has sustained a fall event, simplifying pre use inspections and supporting safer operational routines. Reinforced sides keep the webbing open for easier connector engagement even in challenging environments.

Manufactured from AISI 630 stainless steel and certified according to the new EN 17961:2025 standard, it delivers durability, corrosion resistance, and operational flexibility in demanding environments.
Best practice guidelines for helicopter rescue call for using a steel connection between the Human External Cargo system and the hoist hook. Thorig supports that requirement while offering extra versatility for technical operators.
Its larger circular hole accommodates both textile and metal elements. The smaller circular hole is ideal for connecting an openable ring such as LOTOR, standard connectors, quick links, discharge cables, hoist weights, and additional accessories. The trapezoidal hole is engineered to fit all common carabiners and hoist hooks while preventing accidental rollout. Its openable design allows operators to replace worn components and reconfigure their setup without removing the entire system.
Thorig also enables hoist transfer operations on aircraft equipped with dual in line hoists Hoist Change Over systems, making it a powerful tool for advanced rescue teams and aviation professionals.
